Advocacy Officer

Core Function:

To represent and advocate on behalf of JN+ and the wider
Community of persons living with and affected by HIV and AIDS to develop and coordinate the implementation of an advocacy strategy and a work plan.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Academic background leading to a Diploma/Certificate in Public
    Relations, Advocacy, Mass Communications, Social Work, Counselling
    or other related discipline.

  • Two to three years experience in advocacy, especially on issues relating to HIV/AIDS

  • MS Word, Publisher, Excel and MS Access software skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication in English

  • Ability to analyse, prioritise and complete work with minimal
    supervision

  • Ability to meet deadlines, often under difficult circumstances

  • Experience of working in a grassroots organisation

  • Familiarity with issues surrounding HIV/AIDS

  • Willingness to work with Persons Living with HIV/AIDS essential
